Owen Update

I have been meaning to update our blog a MONTH. As you can see the date I started this post was July 23rd and now here we are on August 24 and I am just getting it posted! Life is full and busy with two beautiful kids.
Owen is now 19 weeks (4 months, 2 weeks). He is growing so much and has the biggest personality! At 2 months he weighed 11.4 lbs (44th percentile) and was 24.5 inches tall (94th percentile). At the moment I can't find the printout of his 4 month weight and height, but he weighed 13.9 lbs and was in the 94th percentile for height.
Owen is a very happy baby. He is always smiling, talking, laughing, and squealing. He is also very mellow. He has a great personality! He smiles at everyone and is very content.
He prefers to be on his belly and is already starting to get his knees underneath him and "crawl". He rolled over for the first time from his front to his back at 11 weeks. At 13 weeks, he rolled from his back to his front. Now he rolls all the time.
He LOVES playing with his big sister. He gets so excited whenever he sees her and reaches out to grab her. They love each other so much and have a lot of fun together. Avery is a wonderful big sister.
Owen is also very strong. Ever since he was born he has been very strong. He could hold his head up from very early on and was extremely alert and aware of everything around him. He is a very cuddly and sweet baby. We are so very happy to have our little Owen!

Kansas Visit

I am behind on my posts! These pictures are from back in the beginning of June when Owen and I traveled to Kansas. We flew out there for my friend Laura's wedding. We also got to see some good friends and family. It was a quick trip but so nice to introduce Owen to everyone.
I was very nervous about flying with Owen by myself, but he was wonderful! If he wasn't sleeping he was just laying on my lap looking around and smiling at other passengers. After each flight landed many people commented that he was the quietest baby they had ever been on a plane with. He was a wonderful travel companion.
The visit to Kansas was a lot of fun. I wish we could make it out there more often. It's hard because it is so far away and expensive now with our family of four. Hopefully we can make it back there again soon. It is wonderful to see everyone!

Owen was 7 weeks when we went to Kansas.
Here he is with Great Grandma Finney.

My wonderful friend Lauren from high school!
I was so happy to get to see her and for her
to meet Owen!

Another wonderful friend, Jane! Also a
high school friend :)

It was SO hot at the wedding but Grandma Cindy
found an air vent that was blowing out cool air and
put Owen right under it. As you can tell, he was
very happy about it!!

Sleeping. We wore him out :)

A few weeks ago we made a quick trip to see Grandma Sally Jo, Grandpa Gary, Aunt Karen, Uncle Paul, and Avery's cousins! It was the first time all the cousins were together. Owen is the only boy!
We were able to go swimming during our visit and it was the highlight for Avery. Avery LOVES being with her cousins so much! She especially loved swimming with them.
This trip was Owen's first long car ride. It takes a usually 6 hours to get to G. Sally Jo and G. Gary's house, however it took us 9 hours! We had to stop to feed Owen, change him, and to keep him happy. On the way back it was much better. It only took us 6 and a half hours. I sat in the back between him and Avery and talked to him, held the pacifier for him and shook an egg shaker. He loved the egg shaker! The sound would put him to sleep. He slept most of the way home and was very happy to be back at our house. The car seat is a challenge at Owen's age. He doesn't like it very much. Avery did not like it at that age either.

All the cousins!
